Mechanical Desktop 6 ReferencePoint Suite

Mechanical Desktop enables you to create and manipulate designer models using the Work and Placed features. You can use work features to create designer models from a specific point or along a specified plane or axis to control the position of the designer model in graphical area of Mechanical Desktop. Using placed features, you can create hollow objects and edit a designer model by creating angular surfaces and radial edges.
This ReferencePoint explains the various types of Work and Placed features you can use in Mechanical Desktop 6. It also describes how to create, edit, and modify work and placed features.
Work feature tools enable you to change the User Coordinate System (UCS) in order to create a model along the direction X-axis and Y-axis. These tools include:
Work Plane: Enables you to construct features on parts that have no face to sketch.
Work Axis: Enables you to define lines that pass through the center of a cylindrical edge or a sketch plane.
Work Point: Enables you to position features that cannot be easily positioned on a model or for which there is no geometric reference.
| Note | Face refers to the sides of a 3-D geometric shape. For example, a cube contains six faces. |
Work plane enables you to construct designer models that reside on a part where there is no face to sketch. You can use a work plane to create an artificial face...
