Kitchen remodeling may well be one of the most profitable elements of residential remodeling. It is widely documented that kitchen remodeling offers some of the highest rates of return on a homeowner's investment. This creates an excellent opportunity for remodeling contractors. Many contractors specialize in kitchen and bath remodeling. When I lived in Virginia, I had an entire division devoted to kitchen and bath remodeling. If you live in a populated area, you should be able to focus on only kitchens and baths and do quite well for yourself.

There are a number of reasons why kitchens are lucrative. Cabinets can be very expensive, and they often hold generous mark-ups for contractors. If I had to pick one element of kitchen remodeling that makes it a cash cow, I would say it is the cabinetry.

It is no secret why kitchens are popular remodeling projects. A kitchen is one of the most used rooms in a house. Since people often associate cleanliness with food, it makes sense that kitchens are a subject of interest when it comes to keeping up appearances.

It is common in older homes to find small kitchens. Many of the kitchens are not bright and cheerful. This opens the door to remodeling. Adding skylights, garden windows, new cabinets and counters, and other enhancements is always popular.
