Bathroom remodeling is big business. There are contractors who specialize in bath and kitchen remodeling and who don't take other types of jobs. Without question, there is a huge demand for qualified remodelers who work wonders with bathrooms. The work can be as simple as replacing a couple of fixtures and refinishing a bathtub, or the work can mean expanding the size of a bathroom and moving or adding fixtures. Then there are the times when a bathroom is installed where there wasn't one. It's quite common to tuck a half-bath under a stairway or to put a master bath in a walk-in closet. The amount of skill and work required for these different types of approaches can be significant.
