Acknowledgments

Well, here I am again, staring at a pile of papers and graphics that have accumulated over the past couple of months. What it will soon become is the latest in a book series that I have embarked on with McGraw-Hill. This book deals with the issues of wireless communications and broad-band communications as the two converge into the world of 3G. As always, I chose to write the way I think, that is, in a non-technical fashion. I also think in terms of what a CEO, CFO, or CIO needs to know about the technologies we will discuss herein. As I usually start off, I try to answer the three management questions:

What is it?

What will it do for me?

What is it going to cost me?

But before I go too far into the plot, I owe a lot of credits to many people. Some of the people I had to deal with either on a regular or irregular basis. First, I owe another debt of gratitude to Steve Chapman, McGraw-Hill s executive editor on this book. Steve is a very patient person.
