Description
I²C Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) chips are integrated circuits that convert digital signals into analog signals. These chips utilize the I²C communication protocol, which is a two-wire serial interface, to receive digital data. The primary function of these DAC chips is to translate digital information into a corresponding analog voltage or current output, which can then be used in various electronic applications.
Working Principle
I²C DAC chips operate by receiving digital input data through the I²C interface, which is a serial communication protocol that allows multiple devices to communicate over two wires: a data line (SDA) and a clock line (SCL). The digital input is typically in the form of a binary word, which the DAC converts into an analog signal. This conversion is achieved through various techniques, such as using a resistor ladder network or a current steering architecture. The resulting analog output can be a voltage or current, depending on the design of the DAC. Advantages over other Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) Chips
