Chapter 10.5.4 - Imaging Time

10.5.4   Imaging Time

When dealing with subjects and patients, it is important that the imaging goals
be accomplished as quickly as possible. After some time, the precorneal tear
film will degrade from prolonged periods of holding the eye open (even
though the subject is encouraged to blink as often as they need), the dilating
agent will begin to wear off, and the patient will get physically tired and
bored.

A reasonable goal to accomplish the imaging objective, whenever possible,
is about 60 minutes. To facilitate this, the subject setup time (alignment, bite
bar, etc.) has to be as efficient as possible.
