Basic System Selection

The most critical aspect of your videoconferencing system is the interface between the users and the system itself. What they see, hear, and touch will ultimately determine the quality of their conferencing experience. This is true whether you select a simple desktop unit or a custom room system. The best electronics and networking services in the world can do little to save a system that is hard to operate, difficult to see, and impossible to hear. Selection Guidelines

Here are some factors to consider in the selection of a system, and a few rules of thumb that should help you to make good choices.

1. Display Devices

Your system should have an adequate number of TV/monitors to display the required information, and they should be large enough for comfortable viewing. Select displays that make it possible to read charts from the rear-most seats.

Example : If your meetings involve basic PowerPoint presentations to audiences of eight to twelve people; a dual monitor system with 32-inch monitors should enable everyone to easily see both the speaker and the slides at the same time.

2. Transmission Speed
