Windows NT Security Guide

Anyone who operates Windows NT on a RISC-based system such as Digital Alpha, Mips, or PowerPC will be able to use Windows 95 applications. Windows Support for x86 Applications on RISC (WX86 for short) is a new technology that will no doubt prove beneficial for a variety of uses today.
Microsoft's Distributed File System (DFS) is founded on the same technology which Windows NT 5.0 is based. DFS performs much as a network directory. Once a client system tries to access a DFS directory or file, the DFS server resolves the reference to the physical location of the file, which can either be on another physical server which is not running DFS or Windows NT.
Microsoft has created a Windows NT proxy server that can function as a proxy at the Windows Socket level while supporting any socket-based application as well as most Internet applications or even as a direct Web proxy.
