3G: Third generation. Refers to the next generation of mobile telephony. The first generation was analogue, the second digital. The third generation provides much higher bandwidths and many additional services, such as Internet services, using protocols such as UMTS (q.v.).
404 'Not Found' error: One of the most common error messages seen by users of Web browsers because of a bad link. The error message is generated by a Web server to indicate that the requested file was not found. The HTTP protocol defines a set of status codes, of which other examples are 403 'Forbidden' and 500 'Internal Server Error'.

AAR: After Action Review (q.v.).
ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line): The most common form of DSL (q.v.). It is asymmetric since download speeds can be up to 8 Mbps, whereas upload speeds are much lower (up to 640 Kbps).
Affiliate model: An Internet marketing and business model, where a supplier pays affiliate fees to Web page owners that route visitors to their website, and which result in sales. Contrast with an advertising model, where fees are paid simply for referrals.
After Action Review(AAR): A systematic process to extract the learning from an event or activity. The process addresses the questions: What should have happened? What did happen? What can be learned for the future?
Aggregator: An organization that aggregates information or knowledge from many different sources and owners.
Answernet: A service provided by a network of experts who answer questions posed online.
