Let us return to the example of invoking TPU. This section uses the techniques discussed in this chapter to rectify the unacceptable response time measured for this particular activity. The results from BENCH have indicated a 49-sec. response time to invoke TPU:

  • Cpu: 532 Dio: 12 SF: 1062 HF: 100 ET: 4941

The resource-dependency analysis has indicated that this activity depends mostly on the CPU, most of the time being spent simply waiting because another processes is using the CPU. Consequently, a MONITOR PROCESS/TOPCPU shows the following:
