Within the workbook we have introduced you to a number of techniques that can be used to collect and analyse the type of information you require for this purpose. We introduced you to job analysis techniques using job descriptions, talking to people and observing them. We looked at task analysis, which requires a more detailed study of the knowledge and skill demands of a task. We also studied the use of versatility charts, diff-rating scales and appraisal interviews. This range of techniques will give you a sufficiently broad sample to select from.
