INTRODUCTION

The extent to which you understand and can control wall cleanup is a direct determinant of your success or failure in using Architectural Desktop A strong statement to be sure, but a true one nonetheless. If you skip any chapter in this book, this is not the one! That being said, let's discuss why wall cleanup is so critical. No one can dispute that walls are the major component of any floor plan or building model. It is also fair to say that the majority of production time on a typical architectural project is often consumed while working on floor plans, and by extension, editing walls. It therefore stands to reason that being able to master the usage of walls is paramount to success. Proper implementation of wall cleanup will play a huge role in this scenario. Wall cleanup determines the interaction between ADT Wall objects and controls all aspects of their successful intersection. Master wall cleanup and you will gain an immediate increase in efficiency and productivity, and experience far less frustration when cleanup problems occur. This will translate into less time drafting and more time designing. In this chapter, you will learn the basic steps necessary to achieve successful wall cleanup in all circumstances.
