Mastering Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2007

In this section, we take our building model into construction documentation. The next several chapters explore creating reflected ceiling plans, generating live schedules and dimensions, extracting sections and elevations from the building model and working with Details and the Detail Component Manager. All of this data is organized onto Sheets, ready for printing or export to electronic formats such as DWF.
In this chapter, we will explore generation of a reflected ceiling plan (RCP) in Architectural Desktop. To facilitate the creation process, ADT includes a special Display Configuration specifically designed for reflected ceiling plans, called "Reflected." In addition to this Display Configuration, the Ceiling Grid object is also available. Use this object to create suspended ceiling layouts. There are also many drag-and-drop content items, like lighting symbols and ceiling fixtures, at our disposal.
A Display Configuration specially designed to display all objects with their "Reflected" Display Representation active is included in the standard ADT template files. Before work on the reflected ceiling plan can begin, this Display Configuration must be made active. (Review Chapter 2 for a detailed discussion of Display Configurations.) Working in the Commercial Project, we will add Ceiling Grid objects and consider ways to crop and center them within the shapes of the spaces in which they occur. The collection...
