CD/DVD Inspector Facts

Some brief facts about CD/DVD Inspector:

  • CD/DVD Inspector bypasses Windows to access devices directly, and uses its own file system to access the files on Compact Discs (CDs) and Digital Versatile Discs (DVDs).

  • No special drivers are needed. If Windows can access the device, CD/DVD Inspector can access the device.

  • CD/DVD Inspector supports any drive connected to the computer as long as it is recognized by Windows. This means all Universal Serial Bus (USB), FireWire, Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA), Small Computer System Interface (SCSI), and other types of drives are immediately recognized and supported by CD/DVD Inspector.

  • CD/DVD Inspector is independent of all other software. No additional software is required to access drag-and-drop discs.

  • The ISO 9660, Joliet, Rock Ridge, Hierarchical File System (HFS), Hierarchical File System Extended Format (HFS+), and Universal Disk Format (UDF) file systems are all supported by CD/DVD Inspector. This means that Macintosh discs can be examined on a PC without additional software.

  • All dialogs have a Copy Text button that copies the contents of the dialog to the clipboard where it can be pasted into a report. It is not necessary to do screen captures and insert graphics into a report.
