Trusted Computing

Maintaining a sufficient level of security is a challenge that businesses and society face as they increase their reliance on IT infrastructures. Increasing numbers of threats, less time to react to new threats and a vast array of computing power available to hackers to develop and launch new attacks mean that we cannot relax. Increasing client mobility and new applications pose new questions for security designers and challenge the old concept of the network perimeter, especially in the complex heterogeneous highly connected world that we live in. New approaches to the problem are needed to protect the infrastructures that are currently deployed and those needed to serve business in the future. Innovation and breakthrough thinking are needed to redesign the way that we construct and connect the different components within an IT infrastructure. Workstations, laptops, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), servers, appliances, storage, routers, printers and other components must all connect together seamlessly, securely and robustly and be able to change and adapt to new security issues as they arise.
We are proud of HP's leadership in the Trusted Computing Group because we realize the immense value of bringing the industry together to build a new foundation for trustworthy computing. It's a long term play, but one that's essential for the security of IT infrastructures.
