So far we have established how to make some buttons for your web page. Hopefully you have experimented and come up with some interesting buttons of your own, after all, it is your creativity that will make an impressive website. We have said that web pages are basically just buttons and information, whether that is text, pictures or audio. Of course, this is the basis of Internet communication, the idea of the hyperlink where pages of text are joined to other pages by means of an addressed link. The Web is a nonlinear construction, unlike books, so when creating websites there need not always be a beginning, middle and end. Although you may have an initial page to your site, it is always possible for people to jump in at any point, thanks to the automatic trawling of search engines. This is one of unique things about the Web, it can be difficult to control the user's actions. In films and books, although you could skip back and forth, people are going to start at the beginning and work their way through to the end. In designing websites you have to be aware that people might join halfway through, so you need to give them clear opportunities to work out what to do.
