This paper describes the measurement campaigns carried out in the framework of a project dealing with the development of optoelectronic sensors for the monitoring of the environment. The measurements were performed in an industrial area where different optoelectronic sensors were applied for the monitoring of air and water quality. The sensors, that included both research and industrial prototypes, were employed to investigate not only their effective performances in such a field, but also to follow an integrated and complementary approach for environmental monitoring.
