Fundamentals of Engineering Examination Review 2001-2002 Edition

The semi-annual EIT/FE examination that is created and administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying is simulated on the following pages. Individuals who are preparing to take the FE/EIT Examination will find it helpful to become familiar with its format and general level of difficulty.
The topics included in the morning or afternoon sessions of the NCEES exam are listed on the front endpaper of this book. Also included there, with a list of subtopics, is the number of exam problems allotted to each topic. In the exam itself, the topics may not appear in the same order, as there are three versions of each exam.
There are 120 multiple-choice problems in the morning session and 60 in the afternoon session. The latter carry twice the grading value of the former, thus the possible score for each session is 120, or a total of 240 points for a perfect score in both sessions.
The only reference material that is allowed at the NCEES exam is the Fundamentals of Engineering Reference Handbook, a copy of which is furnished to each examinee at each session. (Applicants are furnished a copy of the handbook as part of the application approval, but neither this particular copy nor any other is allowed to be carried into the exam.)
The problems in this simulated examination are grouped by topic. Following the problems is a section containing detailed solutions.
