A wagon train heads west. It is going to be a long and difficult journey fraught with danger all along the way. However the people on the wagon train are not fearful of the unknown because that have experienced guides who know the way, know the dangers, and more than anything else know how to avoid the problems that could threaten their success. After many months of travel, they safely reach their destination. All throughout their travels, they relied heavily on their guides even for their very lives. But now they have arrived at their destination and are ready to settle the land and reap the benefits for which they have struggled so hard. This is the point at which the guides step aside. They has served their purpose; it is time for them to move on to the next wagon train and the next group of settlers who will be under their care.
Of course you are not literally going to have to cross swollen rivers, deal with blinding dust storms, fight off hostile enemies, endure physical hardships, and risk your very lives. Nevertheless, you are still on a significant journey.
The internal consultant's role is not unlike that of the wagon train guide. It is your job to guide those under your care safely from where they are to where they wish to be. This...
