McGraw-Hill Machining and Metalworking Handbook, Third Edition

Following is a listing of recognized specification authorities, societies, and institutes from which the design engineer can obtain specifications and standards covering many areas of engineering design and manufacturing.
Many of the standards are revised periodically by these authorities to keep pace with changing technology. It is therefore suggested that copies of the American standards you require to perform your job function be obtained directly from the standards organizations that generate them. In this way, you are assured of using the most recent standard and its revisions. Updates to the standards listings are distributed periodically to those on the organization mailing lists, or annual standards listing manuals may be ordered directly from the standards organizations.
Many of the standards organizations publish handbooks and manuals related to their particular fields that are technically excellent. Indexes to the standards are also available for pin-pointing your area of interest in the form of annual standards catalogs.
