Pro/ENGINEER ReferencePoint Suite

In Pro/E, a solid model is created by adding or removing material from an object. These operations are recorded as features. You create basic features in a part model using sketched sections. To create complex and advanced features, use standard feature creation tools and methods.
This ReferencePoint describes various advanced features such as placed, shell, rib, and pipe. In addition, it describes the advanced part modeling tools and techniques in Pro/E.
Placed features are standard features where there is no need to sketch a section. These features require references such as edges and surfaces, and features are placed using these references.
| Note | To learn more about features and basic feature creation techniques, see the Basic Part Modeling Techniques ReferencePoint. |
To create round features, remove the sharp edges and convert them into smooth edges. You can create two types of round features, simple and advanced.
Simple round feature is a single feature, which you create by combining different radius and reference attributes. Only one such combination is possible in a simple round feature.
There are various types of simple round features based on the radius attribute:
Constant
Variable
Full round
Thru curve
There are various types of simple round features based on the reference attribute:
Edges chain
Surface to surface
Edge to surface
Edge pair
The options for creating simple round features based on radius and reference attributes appear in the Round Set Attribute menu.
