Pro/ENGINEER ReferencePoint Suite

Pro/ENGINEER(Pro/E) provides advanced surfacing tools that help you create complex surfaces of a 3D model and manipulate surface contours. You can use existing geometries, such as datum curve, edges, or any section data, to create the exterior contour of the geometry.
You can also use surfaces to create and manipulate solid features that are difficult to create if you use the part creation or manipulation tools of Pro/E. In addition, you can use the Surface Analysis tool in Pro/E to check the various surface attributes, such as tangency and curvature.
This ReferencePoint describes how to create and manipulate surfaces using various advanced surfacing tools and options, such as variable section sweep and swept blend in Pro/E. It also explains how to create various types of boundary surfaces.
You can create simple surfaces using the basic surface creation options, such as extrude, revolve, sweep, and blend. To create complex surfaces, you need to use manipulation options, such as merge and transform. The surfaces that you create using advance surface creation options take more time to regenerate the feature than those created using basic surface creation options.
You need to use the basic surface creation and manipulation tools in tandem with advance surface creation techniques to create a 3D model.
Some of the advanced surface creation options are:
Variable section sweep
Swept blend
Boundary surfaces
