Multiplying Fraction and Mixed Numbers. To multiply common fractions:

  1. Multiply the numerators.

  2. Multiply the denominators.

  3. Convert improper fractions to mixed numbers, if necessary.

    Example


To multiply mixed numbers:

  1. Convert the mixed numbers to improper fractions.

  2. Multiply the numerators.
