Electrical Source / Reference Type
Your choices are... | |||
Capacitance / Capacitor | Capacitance standards and decades provide a highly accurate standard value of capacitance for calibration and testing.
Inductance / Inductor | Inductance standards and decades provide a highly accurate standard value of inductance for calibration and testing.
Resistance / Resistor | Resistance standards and decades provide a highly accurate standard value of resistance for calibration and testing.
Voltage Reference | Voltage references provide a highly accurate value or ratio (Vout / Vin) of voltage for calibration and testing. They use very precise standard DC cells, power supplies, fixed resistors, and/or potentiometers.
Current Reference | Current references provide a highly accurate value or ratio (Iout / Iin) of current for calibration and testing. They use very precise power supplies, fixed resistors, and/or potentiometers.
Specialty / Other | Other specialized, unlisted or proprietary electrical standards, reference sources or decade boxes.

Your choices are... | |||
Standard | Standards provide a highly accurate standard value of resistance, capacitance, inductance, voltage, or other electrical parameter for calibration and testing. Standards usually consist of a single, fixed-value component or several components not in the same circuit. Some standards are available that are continuously variable; often, they incorporate a potentiometer. Standards that have more than one component (e.g., several fixed-value resistors) have multiple posts or a rotary switch to select different resistance values.
Decade Box / Substituter | Decade boxes, decades or decade substituters provide highly accurate and digitally variable standard values of resistance, capacitance, inductance, or combinations of these electrical parameters for calibration and testing. Decade boxes usually consist of several components (e.g., resistors) within the same circuit. The standard resistance value is selected by varying of the number resistors in the series or parallel circuit.
Digital Potentiometer / Bridge | The device is a rheostat or potentiometer, or a rheostat or potentiometer is an integral part of the device (or integral option).
Voltage Divider | Voltage dividers are the equivalent of digital potentiometer with a variable potentiometer (in series) for fine-tuning. Voltage dividers provide a highly accurate ratio (Vout / Vin) of voltage and current for calibration and testing using a very accurate potentiometer in combination with a series of fixed resistors. Kelvin-Varley voltage dividers use a bridge circuit with two standard value resistors. The ratio of the resistance value determines the voltage or current ratio that is provided.
RTD Simulator | RTD simulators provide an output to simulate an RTD resistance value for calibration and testing of resistance temperature detectors.
Thermocouple Simulator | Thermocouple simulators output a precise voltage to simulate the millivolt potential of K, J, R, or other thermocouple junctions.
Other | Other unlisted forms or categories.

Features | |||
Your choices are... | |||
NIST / National Lab Traceable | The standard's calibration can be traced to the National Institute of Technology Standards (NIST) or other national laboratory. The standard has been compared to a master standard that was checked against a NIST standard.
AC | The standard or decade is suitable for alternating current (AC) calibration or testing applications.
DC | The standard or decade is suitable for alternating current (DC) calibration or testing applications.
Component / OEM | The standard, source or decade is suitable for use as a precision component in a larger system or product.
Low Zero / Residual | The standard or decade has low values of zero, offset or residual impedance resistance, inductance or capacitance.
Measurement / Calibrator | In addition to providing a standard reference value, the instrument can perform precision measurements (measures or reads) for testing or calibration.
Computer Interface / Programmable | The decade box, voltage divider, or component has a computer interface option for programming, control, or data acquisition.
Variable (Continuously) | The standard or reference can provide a precise and continuously variable value such as a variable capacitor or potentiometer.
