Description
10Base-T is an Ethernet standard that operates at 10 megabits per second (Mbps) using twisted-pair cabling. It is implemented with modular connectors, typically using an RJ-45 plug and jack configuration. The standard utilizes pins 1 and 2, and 3 and 6, in an 8-position modular plug/jack. It is one of the most popular types of Ethernet due to its simplicity and effectiveness in networking environments.
Working Principle
10Base-T works by transmitting data over twisted-pair cables, which are commonly used in networking. The standard supports a maximum segment length of 100 meters. It operates using a star topology, where each device is connected to a central hub.
