Point 5: Adding Colors and Textures

Adobe Atmosphere builder enables you to apply textures and colors to objects, resulting in a realistic look and feel for the 3-D interactive worlds you create. When applying colors and textures to objects, you need to use the Browser view of Atmosphere builder.

This ReferencePoint describes how to apply colors and textures to the objects in a world. It also explains how to use the tools in the Browser view to edit these colors and textures.

Working in the Browser View

Atmosphere builder has four different views in which you can display your world: Top, Side, Isometric, and Browser.

The Browser view shows the world, as it would appear to end-users when they view it on the Web. You can add and edit colors, textures, or lighting in your world only in the Browser view.

Every object in a world consists of faces, which represent the number of sides that an object has in a 3-D environment. For example, a box object has six faces. In objects such as cones or columns, you can specify the number of faces.

When you apply colors and textures to objects, you have the option to either apply the color or texture to the entire object or to only one face of the object. Figure...
