AutoCAD is a design tool used to develop, manipulate, and modify two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) drawings. The drawings designed in AutoCAD are objects, and they are not measured in pixels. Unlike p objects measured in pixels, which can be modified partially, the objects in AutoCAD need to be modified completely. These objects or drawings are saved as .dwg or .dwt files.
AutoCAD allows you to share drawings between engineers and other team members using the Internet. It lets you develop Web pages using design templates and attach AutoCAD drawing files to the templates. These templates can be sent as HTTP files or as e-mail messages.
This ReferencePoint describes the features of AutoCAD that work with the Internet. It also discusses how to send and manage drawing files over the Internet.
AutoCAD uses the MeetNow toolbar to transfer drawing files over the Internet. MeetNow allows you to open and save files from Web sites and enables you to create hyperlinks in drawing files.
AutoCAD allows you to create an HTML document and automatically generate HTML code for this document. An HTML document can be uploaded as a Web page by specifying the Uniform Resource Locator (URL). AutoCAD commands such as open, upload, and export are used to find the path to a Web site. You can download, open, and edit drawing files from a Web site using AutoCAD.
