AutoCAD 2002 ReferencePoint Suite

Blocks and wblocks are objects used repeatedly as single elements in a drawing. You can insert blocks and wblocks in a drawing at a required location and with a specified angle and a scale factor. This reduces the time and effort involved in creating objects that are used repeatedly in a drawing.
When you redefine or edit blocks, all the block instances inserted in the current drawing are automatically updated.
This ReferencePoint explains how to create blocks, insert them into drawings, and edit them.
The disadvantage of a block is that it can be inserted only in the file in which it is created. You cannot insert it in any other drawing file.
If you want to use a block in more than one drawing, you need to create it as a wblock.
Blocks allow you to insert the required number copies of an object in the current file. For example, a plan of a building contains twelve doors and twenty-eight windows. In this plan, you can draw a door and a window and then define these into separate blocks. Whenever you need a door or a window in the plan, you can insert the same as blocks. You can define the size and rotation angles of the doors and windows while inserting.
A block can consist of many sketched objects and you can convert the block into a single object while inserting.
You need to save wblocks as...
