Jet assembly: (diffusion pump) The arrangement of surfaces in a diffusion pump that imparts a preferential direction to the vapors formed by heating the pump fluid. Also called a Nozzle assembly.
Jet vapor deposition: (film deposition) An atomistic deposition process where evaporated atoms are introduced into a supersonic jet flow of inert carrier gas that transports the atoms to the substrate surface.
Jobshop: (surface engineering) A manufacturing facility that will coat items for any individual requiring its services. Also called Contract coater.
