Description
Bolt mounted capacitors are a type of capacitor that are secured in place using bolts. These capacitors are designed for applications where a stable and secure mounting is required, often in environments subject to vibration or mechanical stress. They can be found in various types, including aluminum electrolytic capacitors, which are known for their high capacitance values and reliability.
Working Principle
The working principle of bolt mounted capacitors is similar to that of other capacitors. They consist of two conductive plates separated by an insulating material known as a dielectric. When a voltage is applied across the plates, an electric field is created, storing energy in the dielectric. This stored energy can be released back into the circuit when the voltage changes. The capacitance, which is the ability to store charge, depends on the area of the plates, the distance between them, and the type of dielectric material used.
Applications
Bolt mounted capacitors are extensively used in power systems for various purposes such as voltage control, power-factor correction, filtering, and reactive power compensation. Advantages over other Capacitors

Limitations
