Data Quality: The Field Guide

It turns out that almost everyone has a stake in data quality. Almost everyone, no matter what their job description, in any organization, large or small, public or private, brand new dot.com or old-style brick and mortar, is impacted by poor data. And probably, at least some of the time, almost everyone passes on poor data.
This section selects various perspectives chief executive officers (Chapter 1 ), consumers and dot.coms (Chapter 2 ), chief financial officers and managers of ongoing operations (Chapter 3 ), marketers (Chapter 4 ), and chief information officers (Chapter 5 ) to describe some of the issues. Most chapters use specific types of data (Internet data, billing data, customer data, etc.) to make specific points. Each chapter points to the later chapters that describe resolution of the most important issues faced.
Chapter 6 is a catch-all chapter, just in case anyone feels left out.
