New Employee Orientation Training

The objective of this activity is to help participants get to know each other in an enjoyable and nonthreatening way.

Your choice of prizes.
20 minutes
Prior to the session, make one copy of the handout for each participant. If there are fewer than 20 participants, adjust the number of items on the handout accordingly.
Purchase three to five prizes.
Distribute Handout 10-1. Tell participants that when you give a signal, you want them to move around the room and find fellow participants who meet the 20 criteria listed on the sheet. People will sign their names on the lines that correspond to their criterion, but a person may sign another person's sheet only once. Tell them they have eight minutes to complete their sheets. As soon as their sheets are filled, they are to hand them in to you.
At the end of the designated period, call time and award prizes to the first few people who have their sheets completed or to those who have obtained the most signatures. (You determine how many receive prizes.)
Select four or five interesting criteria on the list and ask participants to hold up their hands if they met a particular criterion.
