The following is a summary of criteria for the Class A certification process. It is not intended to document the full certification criteria in detail.
| Strategic planning process | An annual strategic planning process exists and is managed by the CEO. |
| Business imperatives | A short list of twelve-month measurable objectives is in place. |
| Project funnel | A repeatable process for developing and collecting project ideas is established. |
| Prioritization of projects | A repeatable process for prioritizing projects exists and is linked to the business planning process. |
| Resources and skills required | A talent review process exists. |
| Review process | Management predictably reviews projects and is involved in the empowerment of new resource assignments. |
| Process design includes demand and production plans reviewed monthly by top management | Demand forecasts and production plans as well as inventory and financial plans are distributed to management for review in a twelvemonth rolling format. |
| Meetings | The S&OP meetings are held every month at the same time and are scheduled twelve months in advance. They are attended by top management. |
| Performance | Demand accuracy is 90+ percent accurate. Financial and production plans are 95+ percent accurate. All top-management plans are measured in consistent product families. |
| Professional society affiliations | Organizations such as the American Society for Quality Control (ASQ) and American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) are supported. |
| In-house education | Education is provided for existing and new employees. |
