High Performance Cluster Configuration System Management

Show Cluster Utility

Show Cluster Utility
The Show Cluster utility is useful in reviewing information about your cluster. This command collects data from three different sources, and each discrete source contains classes. Within each class are specific fields that can be selectively called upon and displayed, or written to a report file. (The output qualifier is used when writing to a report file.) Another very useful command is the "SET SCREEN=xx" to adjust terminal width.
The System Communication Services (SCS) database has the following classes:
Table 8.1: SCS Classes
Class Name
Description
Members
Active cluster nodes.
Systems
Detailed description of the participating systems, e.g., node name, ID number, hardware, software version.
Circuits
Cluster virtual circuits.
Connections
Connections that run over the virtual circuits.
Counters
Traffic counters.
Credits
Send and receive credits for each connection.
Cluster data is collected from the connection management database; the single class is called "Cluster."
Port data is collected from the port database and has classes of:
Table 8.2: Port Data Classes
Class Name
Description
Errors
Error counts on each port.
Local_Ports
Node's cluster port interfaces.
Tip Each of the databases mentioned above has its own window display. Each class within the database may have fields added to its own display. This section is not intended to be a course on how to use the Show Cluster utility; please refer to the manual for appropriate instructions on its use.
