Final Cut Pro 3 Editing Workshop, Second Edition

One more time, let s begin by loading the material you need onto your media drive.
If you don t already have it there, drag over the Media1 folder from the CD.
Also drag onto your system drive the folder Lesson 11.
Eject the CD, open the Lesson 11 folder on your hard drive and double-click the project file, L11, to launch the application.
After you ve reconnected the media, what s the very first step we take, boys and girls? Yes, that s right, we set the Scratch Disk Preferences to the Media1 folder, as well as setting the AutoSave Vault location to the Shared folder.
And the next step? Yes, we use Save Project As and give the project a new name.
Inside your project copy, you ll find the usual suspects in the Browser, Clips bin, Damine.mov, and other files. Two of the sequences are called Effects Builder and Effects Builder 2. These demonstrate some of the filters we ll see in this lesson. You can copy and save the settings of these effects in your Favorites bin and use them with your own media.
As we go through the lesson, I ll show you how the effects in these two sequences were made. Let s begin by opening up the empty Sequence 1 and dragging one of the clips from the Clips bin into it. Why don t we start with Dance2?
