Remote Working: Linking People and Organizations

The ability to give and take feedback is a critical skill for a remote manager. If the manager does not have first rate skills in this area then the chances of success for remote working are significantly reduced. Consequently this skill area has been allocated its own chapter separate from the more general management skills discussed in Chapter 4. Allied to feedback are appraisal and controlling skills, which are each given their own section here because these are areas that worry many managers new to remote working. The final section of this chapter looks at developing the remote worker.
