To assist in visualizing some of the concepts presented throughout this material, we have created a number of small software packages which can be downloaded from our Website at www.accessMHtelcom.com. Foremost among these is the Diagnostic Monitor (DM) Simulator, which should prove fairly useful to those who may not have the opportunity of witnessing the internal operation of a live network "up close and personal." It should be understood that, although this DM Simulator is fairly realistic in most respects, it is not intended to be comprehensive or identical to any actual Diagnostic Monitor currently in use. The sole purpose in providing it is to help demonstrate the combined operation of several of the more important aspects and parameters on a CDMA link as they might appear on an actual system. Further, we point out that though these programs have been tested on a number of software platforms (Windows NT, Windows 2000, and DOS 6.22 where applicable) without any noticeable problems, they still may not work as designed on different systems with unique configurations, so it should be understood that the user assumes all risks associated with their use.

This set of programs includes: a CDMA Diagnostic Monitor (DM) simulator, which provides roughly a 60-second simulation of a mobile traveling through a CDMA network, from an urban setting into a rural environment; link budget calculator; SWToolKit (inter-mod frequency calculator, slotted mode calculator and cellular/PCS channel allocation calculator); Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) demo; and Taylor series expansion demo.
