FAST can be used in many different ways to increase a person's understanding of a given subject just by writing down a list of functions and then organizing those functions into a FAST Tree. All you need is a pencil and a piece of paper to accomplish the task. The FAST Tree then can be used at a later date to help recall details about the subject and also recall important points quickly. FAST can even help you in your daily activities or in your work environment if you list all the things you do each day as functions and then organize them into a logic diagram.
Many other activities might be performed better if you knew why you are actually required to perform them. Some people hate to give talks or teach other people a given subject even though they are very qualified to do so. Perhaps their fears would be eliminated if they put all their thoughts about the subject in writing using functions and then use this technique to organize their thoughts into a logic diagram.
