Chapter 7 includes instruction on how to construct the assembly shown below.

Start SolidWorks by referring to Chapter 1 Getting Started .
After SolidWorks is running, begin an assembly drawing. Move the cursor to the upper left corner of the screen and left on New. The New SolidWorks Document dialog box will appear. Left click on Assembly as shown in Figure 1.

Left click on OK.
The Assembly feature of SolidWorks will open. Your screen should look similar to Figure 2.

Move the cursor to the lower left portion of the screen and left click Browse as shown in Figure 3.

The Open dialog box will appear. Locate the Case1.SLDPART file and left click on Open as shown in Figure 4.

SolidWorks will place one piston case in the drawing space. The case will be attached to the cursor. The piston case will appear as shown in Figure 5.

Left click once. The piston case will be placed in the assembly drawing. Your screen should look similar to Figure 6.
