Project Planning and Scheduling Using Primavera Version 4.1: For Engineering & Construction and Maintenance & Turnaround

A Resource has two principal components after it has been assignedto an Activity:
Quantity, in terms of Workin hours or Material quantities required to completethe activity, which are referred to as Units by Primavera Version4.1, and
Cost, which is calculated from the Resource Unit Rate x Quantity. The Resource Unit Rate is termed Price/Unitin Primavera Version 4.1.
Each Resource and Expense has the same four fields for Costsand Units: Budget, Remaining, Actual and At Completion. The relationship among these fields changesdepending on whether the activity is Not Started, In-Progress or Complete.
When an activity is Not Started and the % Complete is zero then:
Budget may be linked to Remainingand At Completion and therefore a change to one willchange the other two and they will always be equal, and
Actual will be zero.
When the activity is marked Started and would normally be In-Progress and the % Complete isbetween 1% and 99% then:
Budget becomes unlinked from Remainingand At Completion, thus allowing progress and the At Completion value to be compared to the Budget, and
At Completion = Actual + Remaining and have a link to % Completeand a change value to one will result in a change to other values.
When the activity is Complete and the % Complete is 100% then:
Remaining is set to zero, and
At Completion = Actual.
In summary, the Budget values...
