Gridlines are important to help divide the visual presentation with lines on the Bar Chart. The functions available for formatting the gridlines in Primavera Version 4.1 have improved and now allow the setting of colors and styles to the Data Date only.
Bar Chart Horizontal Gridlines are formatted in the Bar Chart Options form. Select 
from the Bars form to open the Bar Chart Options form, General tab:
Show Major Lines places a black horizontal dotted line above each WBS band across the bar chart.
Show Minor Lines places a gray dotted line at the interval selected in the Rows box.
Bar Chart Vertical Gridlines may not be formatted and are shown as solid black lines from the major timescale.
Column Horizontal and Vertical Gridlines may not be formatted and are displayed in solid gray.
The Data Date may have its thickness, colour and pattern formatted in the Data Date tab of the Bar Chart Options form.
Bar Necking Settings Bar Necking displays a thinner bar during times of inactivity such as weekends and holidays and applies only to bars set as Current Bar in the Timescale column in the Bars form.
