As we approach the end of our journey to understand the story told by financial statements it is worth reflecting on the ground covered.
We have looked at the mechanism by which commercial transactions are captured and incorporated within accounts, and it is important to emphasize that this is a common discipline to any financial information prepared around the World.
Tools have been developed, both qualitative and quantitative, to analyse the financial information presented to us, and we have considered the implications of the results for our ability to both understand the past and predict the future.
Accounting policies have been examined highlighting areas of choice, and also consideration given to some of the key areas where international accounting practice varies.
