In this chapter we will learn the core of the Modifying commands in AutoCAD.

We will cover nine commands, which will enable the user to make any type of changes on the drawing.

First we will discuss the selection process (more advanced than what we discussed in Chapter 2).

Then we will discuss the following commands:

• Move command, to move objects from one place to another.

• Copy command, to copy objects.

• Rotate command, to rotate objects using rotation angles.

• Scale command, to create bigger or smaller objects using a scale factor.

• Array command, to create copies of objects either in a matrix fashion, or circular or semicircular fashion.

• Mirror command, to create mirror images of selected objects.

• Stretch command, to change the length of objects.

• Break command, to break an object into two pieces.

We will wrap up this subject discussing the Grips in AutoCAD.

In Chapter 2 we took a look at some of the methods to select. What we will do now is expand our knowledge in this area.

With all the methods we will discuss we will type a letter or more at the Select objects prompt.
