Each chemical record is presented in a uniform format of data elements. Data items include record number, record name, trade names and synonyms; EEC (European Economic Community) numbers; CAS (Chemical Abstract Service) number, 2004 North American Emergency Response Guidebook four-digit ID, DOT Hazard Class or Division, three digit ERG Guide, molecular formula, RTECS number, physical properties; health and safety information including IDLH, odor threshold, carcinogen information from various sources including the DHHS (Department of Health and Human Services), IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer), and the EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency), OSHA air contaminant lists, workplace regulations including OSHA Air Contaminant lists (Tables Z-1, Z-2, Z-3), OSHA Specifically Regulated Substances, and Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals including Threshold Quantities, a health profiles listing short- and long-term exposure problems, exposure limits from ACGIH, OSHA, NIOSH, and DFG, minimal recommendations for respirators including maximum use concentrations (MUCs), emergency use and escape; chemical reactivity; and fire information including hazard ratings based on the NFPA 704 hazard rating system, flash point, flammable limits in air, autoignition temperature, first aid, and environmental information.

The environmental information section includes data relevant to each compound cited in the Clean Air Act (CAA); Clean Water Act (CWA); Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA); Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the law commonly known as Superfund; Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA, also known as SARA Title III); Marine Pollutants (49 CFR, Subchapter 172.101, Appendix B);
