Properties: m-Xylene is the major constituent of commercial grade xylene. Highly flammable liquid. Clear, colorless, or light colored. p-Xylene is a solid (crystals) below 57 F (14 C). Sweet, aromatic, gasoline-like odor. Floats on water; insoluble. Vapors are heavier than air; will collect in low areas.
Uses: Industrial solvent used in cleaners, paint thinners, paints and varnishes.
