Leadership Training

This chapter focuses on an individual s ability to learn more with less effort. Increased learning capacity lowers stress, reduces conflicts and builds self-esteem. In contrast, ineffective learning increases stress, triggers blame and challenges feelings of self-worth.
This chapter will help you review, or learn for the first time, the latest research on how people learn. As you deliver this leadership training, you will be able to adapt the materials on the spot to meet the specific needs at that time and place. This may involve throwing in some new learning activities or leaving some out, but these choices can only be made with a complete understanding of why they were there in the first place. The design of these materials is based on the research presented in this chapter.
In each section, there will be an opportunity for you to think about your own learning preferences. Your unique profile will consist of

Studies on how individuals prefer to get new information have been conducted for years in the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). These ways of learning fall into three categories, as shown in Figure 2 1.
