where the total enthalpy h t is composed of a static part ( h) and a dynamic part that is proportional to the local velocity as follows:


The specific dynamic enthalpy is recognized elsewhere as the kinetic energy per unit mass. Note that the adiabatic-flow assumption nullifies the specific heat-energy exchange q.
