A call center (group of customer service agents) that receives telephone calls from customers. Inbound call centers (teleservice centers) are often used in response to advertisements and direct marketing campaigns. The call routing to inbound call centers can be fixed (established telephone lines) or dynamically controlled (based on activity or skills based routing.)

Information services add value to information by generating, acquiring, storing, transforming, processing, retrieving, utilizing, or making available information via telecommunications. Examples of information services include fax store and forward, electronic publishing, text to voice conversion, and news services.

Initial Alignment Procedure (IAP)
A procedure that is used when a signaling link is activated for the first time or when a link connection is restored after a communication failure.
Integrated Service Unit (ISU)
The combination of a digital service unit (DSU) and channel service unit (CSU) into one device. The ISU interfaces a customer s digital telephone equipment to the formats used by a telephone network by adapting digital protocols, electrical levels and physical connections.
