Description
A Double Pole Single Throw (DPST) Rocker Switch is a type of switch that makes or breaks the connection of two circuit conductors in a single branch circuit. This switch typically has four terminals and is used to control the flow of electricity in a circuit by opening or closing two contacts simultaneously with a single motion.
Working Principle
The DPST Rocker Switch operates by simultaneously opening or closing two separate electrical contacts with a single toggle action. This is achieved through its four-terminal configuration, where two terminals are connected to the power source and the other two are connected to the load. When the switch is toggled to the "on" position, it closes the circuit, allowing electricity to flow through both sets of contacts.
