Industrial / General Purpose Mechanical Clutches
Description
Industrial and general-purpose mechanical clutches are devices used to engage and disengage power transmission from a driving shaft to a driven shaft. They allow for the controlled transfer of power in machinery, enabling the start, stop, or modulation of motion without stopping the engine or motor.
Working Principle
Mechanical clutches operate by physically connecting and disconnecting two rotating shafts. When engaged, the clutch transfers torque from the driving shaft to the driven shaft, allowing power to be transmitted. This is typically achieved through friction, where friction surfaces within the clutch come into contact to transmit torque.
